City of Coffeyville Accepting Applications for Alcohol and Drug Fund Grants

Applications are being accepted for the City of Coffeyville Alcohol and Drug Fund Grants. The State of Kansas created an Alcoholic Liquor Fund from taxes paid on alcohol purchases. One-third of the money Coffeyville receives goes to the general fund, one-third goes to parks and recreation, and the final one-third goes to a special alcohol and drug program fund.

The monies in the special alcohol and drug program fund are designated for services or programs for the prevention and education of alcohol and drug abuse. The amount available for grant awards is $30,973.72. The City Commission will consider requests from groups or agencies providing services benefitting the Coffeyville community.

Applications are available on the City’s website at coffeyville.com. The deadline to receive applications is May 31. For questions, contact the City Clerk’s office at 620-252-6108.
