The building inspector is responsible for issuing building permits and for the inspection of all construction in the City to ensure compliance with ordinances, building codes and applicable specifications.

Responsibilities
Duties of the building inspector include:

• Issuing permits for buildings, plumbing, electrical and mechanical construction and for demolition, sign and fence permits
• Reviewing plans for proposed buildings, building additions and building alterations or repairs to verify zoning compliance, building and fire code compliance, conformity with all City ordinances and compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (in conjunction with the Water / Wastewater, Electrical and Engineering departments)
